Discover our story, mission, and the heart behind our ministry
The foundation of our ministry and calling
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free."
To deliver people from the Kingdom Satan to the Kingdom of God.
Reaching people with the Gospel message
"Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15
We strongly believe reaching the world by the message of Jesus Christ is the only hope of mankind. John 3:16 Purpose: "He hath showed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Micah 6:8
Our purpose is to expand the king-dom of God in our world by showing the love of Jesus Christ to all people. We believe that the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for forgiveness of sins and salvation, which is the free gift of God's grace. Salvation is affected by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit and cannot be secured by man's works or personal merit.
Salvation is only appropriated by a person placing his faith in the finished work of Christ. Repentance is a turning toward God and away from sin and is a part of but not separate from believing faith. Those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again, have their sins forgiven, become children of God, are a new creation in Christ, and "are sealed by the Holy spirit unto the day of redemption" being kept by the power of God (Eph. 1:7,13-14; John 1:12; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 Pet. 1:3-5).
How we believe every Christian should live
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself and should, by the power of the indwelling Spirit, allow Christ to manifest His life through him by ever increasing obedience to the Word of God, such believer should mature and progressively become more like Jesus.
In the power of the Spirit, each believer should live a holy life, walk in the power of the Spirit, be personally involved in making disciples to fulfill the great commission, perform good works and bear fruit to the glory of God (Gal. 2:20; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 1 Pet. 2:11; 2 Cor. 5:14-15; Eph. 2:10; Eph. 4:11-16; Gal. 4:19-20; 2 Cor. 4:20-21; Acts 1:8; Matt. 18:19-20; 1 Pet. 1:8; 2:1 John 1:3).
Our foundational beliefs rooted in Scripture
The following paragraphs simply summarize what we believe as a church family. We believe the Bible and teach it to be perfectly true. Every belief and teaching of Faith Baptist flows from God's Word. For a more detailed account and description of our doctrine, feel free to request a doctrinal statement from our church office.
We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, fully and verbally inspired of God. We believe the Scriptures to be the inerrant, infallible Word of God, as found within the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe God not only inspired every word, but has preserved them through the ages. We believe the King James Version to be the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people (Psalm 12:6-7; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 1 Peter 1:18-21).
We believe in one God, who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance, yet manifests Himself in man in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
"Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 1:17; James 1:17; John 4:24"
We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Savior of mankind. We believe Jesus Christ to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was virgin born, that He was God incarnate, and that the purpose of the incarnation was to reveal God, to redeem men, and to rule God's kingdom.
We believe Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of his blood on the Cross and was accepted by God upon his resurrection. We believe he ascended into heaven at the right hand of the Father, waiting for the time of receiving his church at the Rapture, and returning seven years later as King of kings and Lord of lords.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given" - Isaiah 9:6
We believe the Holy Spirit of God is a person who has personality and all the attributes of Deity. We believe the Holy Spirit has always been involved in the affairs of mankind. However, we believe he has a special ministry which began at Pentecost and will continue until the Rapture.
This ministry includes convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit also has a ministry to the believer which includes: baptizing every believer into the body of Christ; indwelling every believer; sealing every believer; and filling those believers who yield their faith in Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Gifts: For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge; to another faith; to another the gifts of healing; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
"But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."
